| CREDIT SUISSE ASSET MANAGEMENT Switzerland appoints new Chief Investment Officer |

Zürich, February 27, 2003 -
Following the decision to further strengthen CREDIT SUISSE ASSET MANAGEMENT’s profile in the domestic market for institutional investment advisory and asset management (including fund management), Christoph Schenk (37) has been appointed the new Chief Investment Officer CREDIT SUISSE ASSET MANAGEMENT Switzerland, effective March 1, 2003.
Having worked previously at Credit Suisse, Christoph Schenk has since been running ABB’s pension fund unit (ABB Vorsorge Ltd), demonstrating great skill and impressive innovative capabilities.
CREDIT SUISSE ASSET MANAGEMENT is delighted to welcome on board an opinion leader in investments and pensions whose many years’ experience mean he is ideally placed to tackle the challenges currently facing Swiss pension funds.
