Managing Director
Richard H. Whitney is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse and Global Co-Head of the Chemicals Group based in New York.

Mr. Whitney joined CS in November 2000 when the Firm merged with Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. During his tenure at DLJ, Mr. Whitney provided investment banking services to the following industries: independent power, pulp and paper, packaging, and chemicals. Before joining DLJ, Mr. Whitney served as a political appointee in the Reagan Administration as an Advance Assistant for the White House and a Staff Assistant to the Secretary of Labor.

Mr. Whitney has played a major role in the following recent transactions: Hexion Specialty Chemical's pending acquisition of Huntsman Chemicals, MacDermid's recent going private transaction, Rockwood's acquisition of Dynamit Nobel, and OM Group's divestment of their Nickel Division to Norilsk.

Mr. Whitney earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Colorado with a minor emphasis on Political Science and Economics. He then went on to earn an M.B.A. from George Washington University. He is married with three daughters and resides in Bronxville, New York.
